Information related to the Jack Petchey Awards scheme at Phoenix Swimming Club
Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme
The Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme was formed to recognise “extreme endeavour
and to help young people to help themselves”. Phoenix swimming club has been successful
in applying to be able to make achievement awards to its club members under this
scheme. We are now able to award a number of awards to individuals within the club
during the year. Awards are not necessarily for the fastest or most popular individuals,
but are intended to recognise those young people (aged 11-
Each award winner will receive a framed certificate and an invitation to a regional award ceremony at which they will be presented with a very nice Jack Petchey medallion. The winner will also be given a financial award (currently £200) to be used to fund one or more projects from the current club ‘wish list’.
To nominate...
We are always looking for award nominations. Anyone can nominate someone
within the club, so please pick up a form from the club desk on Friday night or download
it from the link below then hand it into the club desk, a committee member, or send

Jack Petchey Leaders Award
Once a year we are entitled to submit a nomination for a Jack Petchey ‘Leaders Award’ for an adult who has been involved with the club for at least two years and has "supported young people in an exceptional way". The final decision on this award is made by the Jack Petchey foundation.
Congratulations to Debbie Pearse who was awarded this in 2008 in recognition of her many years service at the club desk handling both membership and the club shop.
We are now collecting nominations for 2010. These can be submitted on the standard Phoenix Jack Petchey nomination form.
